The One in Which Caro Tries to Get to the Bottom of It

I always hated the thought of having to wear a uniform to school everyday. Never would I want to be restricted by some sort of sartorial rule book determined by old-ladies concerned with modesty and repressing individuality. Thankfully I was never subject to this form of fashionista torture. However, I have recently been introduced to the collegiate uniform. Every Betty Co-ed seems to don the same clothes day-in day-out, differing only from a mandated school uniform by the price tag.

What has caused these girls to slump back into that sad state of uniformity and uninspired outfits?

It seems odd to me that here, it is fashionable to dress like you just came from the gym all the time. No, sorry, it's fashionable to dress like you came from a New England gym and only could find your dad's XXL faded tee, collegiate baseball cap, $500 jacket, designer leggings, and heavy duty Bean Boots. But I digress, I'm not here to "hate" on the nonsensical way some University students dress, but merely to comment on style in today's media relient culture and obsession over trends, or what I like to call them, "not so trendy trends."

So what happened?

I'm here to dissect and discuss what causes shifts in the way people dress.

I'm here to get down to the bottom of personal style.

What does it mean? How individual is it really? Is there ever really a new way to wear something?

I will forever be interested in finding new ways to express myself through my style, so stay tuned to see how Caro is Coming of Age.

And no worries, I'm not going to try to cleverly come up with some new Friends heading every day. I'm just trying to get your culture-obsessed mind's attention duh.
